Beautiful instrument made at the end of the previous century or the beginning of this century. The style and the wood used suggest that the violin was built in Eastern Europe, probably Poland. The regular flaming in the maple back is beautifully expressed in the transparent orange-red varnish. The great craftsmanship of the unknown maker is visible in the beautifully carved scroll, the sharp purfling and elegant shape of the blades. The violin responds easily and has a clear, open and balanced tone that carries (see the sound fragment below).
