German violin from the collection of Carl Sattler, 1920
German violin from the collection of Carl Sattler, 1920
Beautiful old German violin from the collection of the German violin maker Carl Sattler from Pforzheim. Inside is the original label dated 1920. The violin is clearly of high quality. The scroll is deeply cut, the purfling sharp and wide. The beautiful transparent gold-brown varnish that beautifully accentuates the balanced flame in the maple back, also testifies to good craftsmanship. The violin has light traces of use. In addition to light varnish wear due to playing in the high positions (often a sign of good acoustic qualities of a violin), the violin has a repaired crack under the chin rest. This is included in the price and does not affect the sound and good technical condition of the violin. The violin is fitted with new tuning pegs, a new bridge and new strings. The powerful sound with many overtones has a rich diversity of colors and offers many possibilities for the advanced violinist.
