Beautiful German violin with label of Chr. Kempf, Trabelsdorf, Oct. 1924. Striking is the beautiful transparent gold-brown oil varnish that shows a tasteful patina on both the top and bottom. The violin modeled on Stradivarius has a flat arching. The flame in the one-piece maple back is particularly beautiful. The violin has a clear sound, rich in overtones and warm and somewhat dark in the low registers (sound clip below).
