French violin from the workshop of René Jacquemin. This instrument from 1941 is built in the tradition of the famous builder Léon Victor Mougenot, with whom Jacquemin received his training, just like many other French builders of this time. Entirely in the French style is the characterful, fine curl and the beautiful rich brown oil lacquer, which shows characteristic wear on the back cover. This violin, with a relatively flat curve of the blades, has a sweet, warm, round sound with character (sound clip below).
