Ackermann&Lesser, Dresden 1910

Ackermann&Lesser, Dresden 1910

€975.00

This beautiful old violin from the renowned firm of Ackermann & Lesser from Dresden was made in 1910. Ackermann & Lesser made violins in its own atelier and also purchased violins from violin makers in the region. These violins, mostly from the Saxon city of Markneukirchen, are known for their good quality. This violin, inspired by the Stainer model, is also a fine example of this. The excellent craftsmanship is clearly visible in the sharp purfling, finely carved scroll and well-selected wood. A beautiful, regularly flamed piece of maple has been used for the back. The rich red-brown varnish on a gold background shows beautiful patina and has some minor signs of wear. Equipped with new bridge, tuning pegs and strings, we can recommend this violin for its mature, powerful, deep sound with a somewhat dark character.
