German violin with slab cut back

German violin with slab cut back

€1,400.00

This attractive violin is believed to have been built in Saxony at the beginning of the last century. The strongly flamed curl is full of character and an impressive demonstration of the builder's craftsmanship. The violin has a flat curve and is built of first class wood. The one-piece slab-cut back is plain sawn and has a beautiful and intriguing flaming. The brown paint that shows some small signs of wear plays with different colors and shows beautiful red accents. The violin has a clear, dark, brilliant sound with excellent playing characteristics (sound clip below).
