German Carlo Bergonzi copy

German Carlo Bergonzi copy

€2,200.00

Beautiful violin inspired by the Carlo Bergonzi model. Carlo Bergonzi probably learned violin making in Rugeri's studio, but his work was certainly influenced by the great Italian masters Antonio Stradivarius and Guaerneri del Gesu. His work coincided with the golden period of Guarneri and the later work of Stradivarius. Although Bergonzi has always stood in the shadow of these masters, his violins are highly valued and his best violins are preferred to the 'average' Stradivarius violins. Carlo Bergonzi's violins are known for their own style with a long, slender body and a flatter arvhing of the tops. These style characteristics are beautifully reflected in this violin and contribute to the great, focused and resonant tone of this instrument. This German copy, probably built in the 1980s, is of exceptional quality. Both the craftsmanship - see the sharp, wide purfling and finely carved scroll - and the tone wood used - with a deep, regular flame - are first-class. Equipped with a new bridge and strings, this master copy is suitable for very good amateurs and conservatory students who are looking for a big, clear and carrying sound.
