This violin by Mr. Lupac was built in 2005. Fine and evenly grained spruce wood is used for the top. The two-piece mirrored back is made of Bosnian maple and has a nice, even flame. The transparent red lacquer layer is applied to a gold-yellow background. The violin has an open, clear and balanced tone (see the sound clip below). This violin comes with a certificate of the maker.

The violinmaker Emile Lupac is considered one of the best Czech / Bohemian violin makers of his time. His teachers are Josef Vávra and Josef Pötzl. He builds violins after the example of Stradivarius and Guarneri. Until recently he was a senior teacher at the Czech School of Violin Art. Here he taught a new generation of Bohemian and Slovak violin makers. In 1985 he was appointed expert of the National Collection of Musical Instruments in Prague. He participated in several international competitions and obtained diplomas in Poland and Italy. In the United States he received a certificate for craftsmanship and tone quality for one of his violins. Twice he was on the jury of the international violin making competition in Hradec Králové.
