Beautiful, stylish Dutch violin made by W. de Haan in 1955. The number 10 in the label suggests that it is the 10th violin he made. Although little is known about this Apeldoorn violin maker, the character and good craftsmanship of the violin radiates. The violin is made according to its own, individual model with relatively broad shoulders, sharp angles and a gentle slope at the waist. The striking scroll is full of character and the sharp purfling is placed close to the edge. The tasteful, soft golden-brown oil varnish beautifully highlights the fine, regular flame in the maple back. The violin has a resonant, warm sound with different color tones.
