German violin built in the workshop of J. Altrichter. The violin was built in 1909. An attractive instrument, expertly built and made of high quality wood. Medium-grained spruce for the top and balanced, deeply flamed maple for the mirrored back. The beautiful gold-brown paint shows some small signs of wear due to intensive use and playing. The fine, carefully cut scroll and sharp inlay show the skill of the maker. The sound is mature and expressive with a dark resonant sound (sound clip below).
